WHAT THE RACE IS LIKE
There are 24 total races.  Races are divided by grade level, gender and division.
For example, Freshman boys will be racing against freshman boys from similar sized schools.  There is no Varsity or Junior Varsity in this race.
The racers will line up in teams on the goal line of the football stadium.
The race starts by crossing the football field and then funneling down to a sharp right turn out of the stadium.  They will run on grass, dirt and sidewalks.  They’ll run up hills and down hills.

HOW CAN PARENTS WATCH THE RACE? – TWO WAYS
One way, is to sit in the stadium and watch as the racers start and finish their races.
Another way (wear your running shoes and comfy clothes) is to criss-cross the course to catch the athletes at different points in the race.

HOW THE SCORING WORKS (Who knew Cross Country was a team sport?!)
Individual Awards
The top 40 athletes in each race will receive a custom Laguna Hills Invitational medal.
The top 3 teams will receive plaques.
The first place team in each race will receive 5 Team Champion bags.

Team Awards Scoring
The 1st place runner in each race gets 1 point, 2nd place gets 2 points, 3rd place gets 3 points, etc.
Points for the top 5 runners, per school in that race, are added up, and the school with the least number of points is the Winner!
